You can then continue your tour with a gentle drive through the picture postcard scenery of the charming Cotswolds. Round off your day with a walking tour through the famous Stratford-upon-Avon and a fascinating visit to the house where William Shakespeare was born in

                                                              1564.

Day Two – Chester / Liverpool

This morning your voyage of discovery continues through England’s heartland where the industrial revolution began. The first stop can be at Colebrookdale where iron was first produced industrially. Here you can marvel at the world’s first bridge made solely of iron. Next you can drive on to the beautiful walled city of Chester before arriving at the lively city of Liverpool, home of the Beatles. Visit Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields and the Cavern Club to name but a few of the places made famous by the Fab Four.

Day Three – Manchester / Lake District

A hearty full English breakfast will set you up for a morning dedicated to exploring the metropolitan city of Manchester where you can visit Old Trafford, the ground of the most famous football team in the world – Manchester United. After your city tour it’s off to the National Park of the stunning English Lake District. Here you can embark on a relaxing cruise allowing you to fully absorb its breathtaking mountainous beauty.

Day Four – Edinburgh

Bid farewell to England after a full English breakfast as your tour heads across the border into Scotland, the mystic lands of mists and mountains. Your first stop can be in the pretty market town of Moffat, renowned for its woollen products. Then you can drive through the imposing mountains of the Southern Uplands until Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, emerges in front of you. This afternoon you can enjoy the delights of both the Old Town and the ‘new’ Georgian city. Of course no visit to Edinburgh would be complete without touring the exceptional Edinburgh Castle and viewing its display of the Scottish Crown Jewels.

Day Five – York

After a full Scottish breakfast your drive today takes you south through the Scottish borders and the stunning Northumberland National Park into Yorkshire in England. En route you can see the Roman wall built by Emperor Hadrian to keep the Scots out of Roman territory, known now as Hadrian’s Wall. Next, a mediaeval delight awaits you as you stroll through the cobbled lanes of York to York Minster, the imposing gothic cathedral which began life as a humble church as far back as the year 627.

Day Six – Cambridge / London

After a full English Breakfast your tour heads south to Cambridge, another world famous seat of learning. Here you can visit many colleges which make up the university and perhaps catch a glimpse of some of the students punting on the River Cam upon which the town sits. From Cambridge, your tour heads once more to London where it terminates but the amazing memories are sure to live on. Your car will be collected from you on arrival.
