Upon arrival into Glasgow/Edinburgh Airport you will be met by your English speaking driver for your transfer to your hotel in Edinburgh. Balance of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Edinburgh.
A hearty full Scottish breakfast will set you up for an exciting day in Scotland’s capital city. Your guide will take you through the small streets of the old town where you will see the Scottish Parliament, the Palace of Holyroodhouse (the Queen’s Edinburgh residence), hear the tale of Greyfriars Bobby and then they will take you into the heart of the Edinburgh icon, Edinburgh Castle. Hear about its many centuries of history and see the Scottish Crown Jewels. The tour will also take you through the grandeur of the Georgian “new town”. In the afternoon take the short journey to Glenkinchie to see the secrets of Scotch Whisky making and, of course, taste a ‘dram’ of the golden liquid. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Enjoy another great full breakfast before setting off with your guide on a full day highland adventure. First stop in the home of golf; St. Andrews. See where may Open Golf Tournaments are played out. The north deep into the highlands to the very beautiful town of Pitlochry, gateway to the highlands. See the hydro-electric dam with it fish ladder to allow the salmon upstream to spawn. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Fill up with you last Scottish breakfast before setting off for a cruise across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland. Overnight in Belfast.
Another filling Irish breakfast will set you up for an amazing day in Northern Ireland, the area where the ‘Game of Thrones’ is filmed. The first visit of the day is to the unique geological feature known as the Giants’ Causeway. Legend has it the two giants were at war with each other, one in Ireland and one across the Irish Sea in Scotland. So that they could reach each other they built a causeway. In truth, the interlocking hexagonal pavement is a volcanic feature made when black basalt is cooled very rapidly. One more thrilling experience as you cross a narrow bay on a rope bridge high above(if you dare)! Then it’s on to Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital city. A once troubled city now at peace and full of maritime and military history. After a tour of the famous docklands you will visit the new, interactive museum dedicated to the building, life on board and the tragic demise of the Titanic, built on the spot where the museum now stands. You might also want to stand of the very slipway it was launched from! Overnight in Belfast.
After a filling breakfast at the hotel you will head south to the Republic of Ireland and to its capital Dublin. This afternoon your English speaking guide will meet you for a fascinating look at this historic and beautiful city. You will we see many of the iconic sights which are associated with this bustling city; St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity University, the Bank of Ireland, O’Connell Street, the GPO, Ha’penny Bridge, Phoenix Park and much more. Overnight in Dublin.
A lovely full Irish breakfast is followed by a full day guided tour of the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Here an inside visit to the very pretty Powerscourt House and its stunning grounds. Then on to the Irish National Stud. Ireland prides itself on the race horses it produces and this is the headquarters of the industry here. See how the horses are looked after and trained to be winners. Then enjoy some peaceful time in the beautiful Japanese Gardens. Overnight in Dublin.
After a delicious full Irish breakfast your private vehicle will transfer you to Dublin Airport for your flight home with many happy memories of this ‘Emerald Isle’.
