Day 1 - Arrival, Northern Lights Cruise Arrival at Keflavik International Airport, meet and greet your English speaking Driver-Guide who will be with you during your Iceland stay. Overnight at Grand Hotel Reykjavík in Superior Rooms Day 2 - Blue Lagoon & Reykjavik Sightseeing Full day Excursion including Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik Sightseeing We recommend 1,5 hours bathing time in the unforgettable Blue Lagoon. The Blue lagoon is considered one of the New Wonders of the World. Enjoy the relaxation in the geothermal waters Transfer to Reykjavík and enjoy sightseeing. Overnight Grand Hotel Reykjavík in Superior Rooms Day 3 Reykjavík – Borgarfjörður (approx. 130km) Today you will head to the Borgarfjörður area, in Western part of Iceland. You will visit Hraunfossar (Lava waterfall). Time to embark on a very unique experience, the impressive Ice Tunnel, called “Into the Glacier” This is the largest manmade ice tunnel in the world, located at Iceland’s second largest glacier, Langjökull. Meeting point is at Húsafell, where you embark on a special Monster Truck to take you to the Ice Cap, where the entrance to the tunnel is. During this tour you will experience the great Icelandic vehicles, the Monster Trucks, that drive on glaciers and explore the best of the glacier, around, on and within! Overnight Hotel Husafell. Day 4 Borgarfjörður – Siglufjörður (approx. 370km) Drive from Borgarfjörður to Siglufjörður, a charming fishing village in North Iceland. Enroute, make a slight detour to view the breathtaking Hvítserkur rock formation. Upon arrival in Siglufjörður check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at your leisure in this beautiful town. Overnight Hotel Siglo . Day 5 Siglufjörður – Akureyri – Lake Mývatn – Siglufjörður Enjoy a full day excursion to the Lake Mývatn Area. Lake Mývatn is filled with beautiful scenery such as pseudo craters. Mývatn is a shallow eutrophic lake situated in an area of active volcanism. The lake and its surrounding wetlands have an exceptionally rich fauna of waterbirds, especially ducks. Enjoy entrance to the Mývatn Nature Baths Overnight Hotel Siglo. Day 6 Akureyri – Reykjavik Enjoy the morning at your leisure. Transfer from Siglufjörður to Akureyri (approx. 1 hour) Afternoon flight from Akureyri to Reykjavik (40 minutes) Upon arrival in Reykjavik transfer to your hotel for check in and enjoy the rest of day free at your leisure Overnight Grand Hotel Reykjavik in Superior rooms Day 7 Reykjavik – Golden Circle – Hella (approx. 200km) The Golden Circle is one of Iceland’s top excursions, where you get to see 3 of Iceland’s most beautiful natural wonders Visit Thingvellir National Park, where the world’s first parliament, Althingi, was located. See the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall, and the infamous Geysir hot spring, which no longer erupts but Geysir’s little brother Strokkur erupts every 10-15 minutes Overnight Hotel Stracta Day 8 South Shore; Hella – Vík – Hella (approx. 190km) Today you will see the South Shore of Iceland, where nature offers breath taking scenery with glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls and black sandy beaches Highlights of the day will be the two waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. If you are prepared to get a little wet, you can walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Eyjafjallajökull Volcano is located underneath a glacier and is famous for its eruption in 2010 causing most of European airspace to be closed down and many aircraft left stranded for days. We will end the tour in Vík, firstly with a stop at the black sandy beach with basalt columns and then return back to Hella Overnight Stracta Hotel Day 9 Hella – Reykjavik Transfer from Hella back to Reykjavik Enjoy free time in the afternoon Overnight Grand Hotel Reykjavik in Superior Rooms Day 10 Sadly, it is time to say goodbye to Iceland.
