Suggested Itinerary

Day One – Heathrow / Bristol

Departing London, your tour begins with a drive through England’s oldest county, Wiltshire, and across the amazing Salisbury Plain where you will see the great prehistoric temple of Stonehenge and a landscape dotted with ancient burial sites. You will also see evidence of Iron Age hill forts, possible sites of where the great Celtic King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table took on the Saxon invaders. From here you can drive on to Winchester and visit the historic Great Hall where you can view the Winchester Round Table artefact. Alternatively make time to explore Cadbury Castle, one of the best known reputed sites of Camelot, and the South Cadbury and

                                                               surrounding picturesque thatched villages.

Day Two – Devon

After a hearty English breakfast, you can continue your journey through the charming county of Dorset. This is real back-roads country where you’ll believe time has stood still amidst the villages and harbours of the region. You’ll be able to visit the famed Chesil Beach and the traditional town of Dorchester. There will also be time for shopping in the market town of Honiton, famed for its lace, pottery and antique shops.

Day Three – Cornwall

Today is a day packed with a range of memorable sights and experiences. You can cross the beautiful and awesome landscape of the Dartmoor National Park en route to the north Cornwall coast. Here you can visit Tintagel castle, the alleged birthplace of King Arthur. The castle is located on Cornwall’s dramatic coastline and is accessible only by walking. Later you can visit a selection of quaint fishing villages of the north Cornwall and Devon coasts. This is a day where photographers need to ensure a plentiful supply of film.

Day Four – Somerset / Bristol

On today’s itinerary perhaps is the Cheddar Gorge and the mystic town of Glastonbury, site of King Arthur’s burial and ‘New Age’ capital of England. Here you can visit one of Somerset’s most renowned landmarks - the ancient abbey of Glastonbury Tor, a roofless mediaeval tower shrouded in intriguing mystery.

Day Five – Bristol / London

After a full English breakfast your tour takes you back to London partially by the old coaching road, pausing at the market town of Marlborough, the burial site of the Arthurian legend of Merlin the wizard. From here you can continue on to the World Heritage site at prehistoric Avebury where you will also have a chance to see the mysterious Neolithic monument of Silbury Hill. Your car will be collected from you on your arrival in London.

Day Six – London

Day free at leisure to explore the capital of Britain.
